Today's riddle: What is something you always have, but also leave behind? 🤔 (Answer below!)
Weather forecast:
1. Academy Students Remove 100-Plus Pounds of Trash From Hampton Beach (patch.com) — Hampton Academy students and staff teamed up with Surfrider Foundation volunteers to remove more than 100 pounds of trash from Hampton Beach, turning a cleanup into a hands-on learning experience. The April 17 effort involved 333 participants who collected, weighed, and analyzed litter, tying the work directly into science and environmental lessons while strengthening students’ connection to their hometown shoreline.
2. Wednesday Seacoast Standout: Winnacunnet senior has three hits, 7 RBIs (seacoastonline.com) — Hampton’s Winnacunnet High School softball fans have reason to cheer as senior slugger Maeva Shapiro drove in seven runs on three extra-base hits in a 17-5 win over Spaulding. Her performance in Wednesday’s Division I matchup earned her Seacoast Standout Athlete of the Day honors and praise from first-year coach Greg Cochrane for her smart, gap-to-gap hitting.
3. The Best Affordable AWD Winter Beater Is Not A Subaru, It's This Forgotten Suzuki (theautopian.com) — A car enthusiast ultimately found their ideal $2,000 Suzuki SX4 winter beater in Hampton snagging a rare 2013 model that met strict manual and AWD requirements. After maintenance and rally-inspired mods, the car proved impressively reliable and fun through brutal New England snow, ice racing in Vermont, and daily winter driving, all for under $4,000 invested.
4. Crackdown on crypto ATM scamming heads to governor's desk (unionleader.com) — A new statewide crackdown on cryptocurrency ATMs, strongly backed by police chiefs and AARP, is headed to Gov. Kelly Ayotte’s desk and could soon tighten fraud protections for Hampton residents. The bill caps cash deposits at $2,000 and guarantees a 14‑day refund window, a tougher approach than an alternative plan opposed by Hampton Rep. Nicholas Bridle.
