The Barley House Restaurant to Open Seacoast Location

The Barley House Restaurant and Tavern is expanding with a new restaurant in North Hampton, located at 43 Lafayette Road in the Lafayette Crossing Plaza.

The planned opening is scheduled for November, according to a press statement.

Owner Brian Shea said an extensive remodel began last summer to bring together the classic elements of an Irish style pub combined with the appeal of a modern American tavern – stylish yet casual and comfortable.

DeStefano Architects from Portsmouth and Cobb Hill Construction from Concord worked together to give the Seacoast its newest restaurant.

The Barley House, known for upscale tavern fare with a focus on quality beer service, opened in Concord 15 years ago. It has been recognized by national and local media including NH Magazine, the Hippo Press, Zagat, and USA Today. Numerous awards have included “best burger” multiply years by NH Magazine and The Hippo Press.

With the philosophy of “fresh is best,” burgers are ground fresh daily, pork belly is cured and smoked in-house for bacon, and sausage is handmade - all honoring culinary traditions of the past. Hand crafted doesn’t stop with food.

General Manager Michelle “Chelle” Middaugh explained, “With barley in our name, whiskey is never on the back shelf. We barrel age whiskey cocktails such as The Barley Manhattan, which spends six weeks in small batch oak charred barrels mellowing for the smoothest cocktails on earth!”
