Downtown Pub Collecting Food for Hobbs House
A local restaurant is looking for canned goods to help out a food pantry during the holiday season.

The 401 Tavern is asking patrons and residents to drop off canned goods and nonperishable food items at the downtown pub in order to help raise items for the Hobbs House Food Pantry.
A donation box is located inside the restaurant next to the phone booth, and owner Desi Lanio is asking locals to drop off goods between now and Dec. 23. Lanio said the 401 Tavern will match every donation, and the donations will be given to Hobbs House throughout the drive.
The drive was originally planned as a Sunday night-only event, although Lanio said it's since been changed to a daily event because the "the pantry is low in stock and needs support." He said the drive is "off to a great start" after only one day of donations.
