Hampton Man Arrested for Drugs After Striking Trooper in the Bay State: Cops
Police arrested Bryan Coorey on Dunvegan Woods Drive for reckless conduct, other charges after allegedly fleeing from Mass. State Police.

HAMPTON, NH — A local man was arrested on numerous charges after allegedly fleeing from Massachusetts State Police earlier today, according to police. Bryan Coorey, 33, of Hampton, was arrested on March 10, 2017, for disobeying an officer, reckless operation, resisting arrest, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving after revocation or suspension, possession of controlled/narcotic drugs, reckless conduct, and fugitive from justice.

Hampton’s Deputy Chief David Hobbs noted in a press statement that Mass. State Police reached out to Hampton cops after a 2009 Ford Taurus reportedly struck a trooper in that state while fleeing a traffic stop. Officers found the vehicle in the area of Dunvegan Woods Drive, he noted.

“An officer attempted to stop the vehicle at which point the driver rapidly accelerated the vehicle in an attempt to evade the officer and shortly thereafter fled on foot from the vehicle,” Hobbs alleged. “The officer caught up with the suspect, Bryan Coorey, and after a brief struggle, was able to take him into custody.”
Coorey was arrested and held on $25,000 cash bail on the fugitive charge and another $25,000 cash bail on all the other charges, Hobbs noted.

Coorey was charged with disobeying an officer for allegedly attempting to evade police, resisting arrest for physically interfering with the arrest, possession of controlled drug believed to be crystal methamphetamine, Hobbs noted, as well as reckless conduct for placing others in danger while operating a motor vehicle in an unsafe manner, operating after suspension, possession of drug paraphernalia, and fugitive from justice for the crime of possession of Class B drugs with intent to distribute in the state of Massachusetts.
According to reports online, Coorey has previously been charged with driving after revocation, reckless operation, and warrants.
