Hampton Man Convicted Of Child Rape

Police: Angelo Hernandez received at 9 to 20 year prison sentence on one charge as well as a suspended sentence on a second charge.

HAMPTON, NH — A local man has been convicted of child rape charges in Rockingham County Superior Court this week, according to police. Angelo Hernandez, 54, of Hampton, was convicted on two charges of aggravated felonious sexual assault on a child under 13. Hernandez was arrested last year after police received a report about a sexual assault on a minor in mid-August 2017.

“Through victim and witness reports the Criminal Investigation Division determined that Hernandez did knowingly engage in sexual penetration of a child under the age of 13 as well as knowingly engage in a pattern of sexual abuse with a victim under 13 years of age,” according to Deputy Chief David Hobbs.

Investigators arrested Hernandez on Aug. 18, 2017, on Lafayette Road in Seabrook, with the assistance of police there. He was convicted on March 21, 2018.
