Hampton, Portsmouth Firefighters Assist At Multi-Alarm Rye House Fire
Seacoast firefighters battle a multi-alarm house fire on Long John Road on Sunday in Rye. No injuries were reported.

RYE, NH — Seacoast firefighters worked a multi-alarm house fire in Rye on Sunday.
Around 10 p.m., firefighters were sent to Long John Road for a report of a fire. The “B Shift” in Rye, Ladder 1, arrived, and mutual aid was requested immediately, Chief Mark Cotreau of the Rye Fire Department, said. Ladder 1 found heavy fire showing from the single-family home and a second alarm was struck. This brought more firefighters to the scene, he said.
“Thanks to quick, aggressive firefighting work from the responding units, the fire was quickly brought under control,” Cotreau said. “Firefighters stopped the spread of the blaze in its tracks, saving an attached home addition from becoming involved in the fire.”
