Innis Wins State Senate Republican Nomination

More than 5,300 votes cast in the District 24 Republican primary.

HAMPTON, NH — Dan Innis won one of the more competitive state Senate races in New Hampshire this year, according to unofficial results. With 10 of 11 precincts counted, according to the Associated Press, Innis received 1,796 votes with Ray Tweedie coming in second with 1,566 votes. Steve Kenda, another Republican, received 1,436 votes, and Jim Maggiore, a fourth candidate, received 418 votes.

Innis won most of the communities in the district while Tweedie won in Rye and South Hampton. Kenda won Hampton Falls and North Hampton. Innis beat Tweedie in Hampton by two votes, 413 to 411, with Kenda earning 379. Maggiore fared best in North Hampton where he came in third.

Innis now faces Tom Sherman in the general election.
