Business Owner Ran Over Woman in DWI Accident

The owner of a North Hampton auto center will go to trial on multiple felony charges.

A North Hampton small business owner has been indicted by a Rockingham Superior Court grand jury on three felony counts for allegedly fracturing a woman's pelvis with his car while driving drunk in March.

Thomas Bacon, a resident of 44 Lovell Road in Stratham and owner of Bacon's Service Center in North Hampton, was indicted for second-degree assault, aggravated driving while intoxicated with serious bodily injury, and conduct after an accident, all of which are Class B felony-level offenses, according to court paperwork.

Indictment paperwork alleges Bacon "recklessly" caused "serious bodily injury" to a woman on March 12 on Post Road in North Hampton by striking the woman with his vehicle.

Bacon was later allegedly found to be operating his vehicle under the influence of an intoxicating liquor, and Rockingham County Attorney Jim Reams alleges in the indictment paperwork that the alcohol played a factor in the accident.
