Local Firm Receives Jobs Training Grant
A Hampton business was one several awarded money to provide training to more than 450 workers, according to the governor.

C3I, Inc., a Hampton company that specializes in military and marine communications, controls and instruments, is one of 10 New Hampshire companies that has been awarded a Job Training Fund grant this month, Gov. John Lynch announced Wednesday.
The state grants totaled nearly $200,000, and all 10 companies provided matching funds. In all, more than 450 workers will receive training through these grants, according to a release from Lynch.
“The Job Training Fund has proven to be one of the most effective programs we have in state government and is working to help our companies succeed and grow. Our skilled and educated workforce is a critical component of the successful strategy that has made New Hampshire a national economic leader,” Lynch said in the release. “As Governor, I believe strongly it is important that we continue to invest in our workers and our companies so that we can continue to strengthen our economy for the future.”

Lynch made it a priority to reinstate the Job Training Fund in 2007 as part of the state’s successful economic strategy, according to the release. Since then, the state has issued $5 million in grants — with companies contributing over $7.5 million — to help train more than 14,000 New Hampshire workers.
