Maine Trucker Crashes On I-95

NHSP: The North Hampton section of the highway was closed for nearly five hours due to the jackknifed tractor-trailer.

NORTH HAMPTON, NH — A Maine trucker was not injured after jackknifing a tractor-trailer on I-95 in North Hampton yesterday morning. New Hampshire State Police troopers from Troop A were called to the crash at just before 12:30 a.m. on Jan. 24, 2018, and found the truck jackknifed in the northbound lane. The trucker – a 34-year-old man from Maine – reportedly lost control of the vehicle as it rotated about 180 degrees and traveled into the center median.

When the truck stopped, it was facing south and had overturned its rear trailer and was now partially in the southbound lane, Lt. John Hennessey noted in a press statement.

“No injuries were reported as a result of this collision,” Hennessey said. “The causation of the crash is still under investigation; however speed for the existing road condition appears to be a contributing factor.”
