Parker: Innis is the Most Qualified State Senate Candidate

Letter writer says, His method of work in business and the university are evidence that he will use a transparent form of accountability.

GREENLAND, NH — The upcoming Sept. 13 Republican Primary vote must result in electing the most qualified candidates. Dan Innis, from New Castle, is one such candidate with strong, proven and diverse credentials able to well represent the constituents of Senate District 24's eleven (11) towns.

The skills required to solve problems by state senators must be matched against the candidates' respective skills. Please consider some NH facts: the economy, tepid at best, has an aging labor force, excessive business regulation, high energy and business tax costs and weak state infrastructure. The "NH Advantage" has been lost to neighboring states who figured out NH's method to gain that advantage, and copied the receipe while NH slumbered on its laurels.

Dan Innis' quiver-full of practical experience as a small business onwer and professor of business can contribute to putting the NH train back on the rails. Consider, please: as a 7 year Dean of UNH's Peter T. Paul College of Business & Economics, he applied advanced problem solving skills within a complex organization to (a) build the school for $50 million; (b) increased the "B" school's enrollment from 1,700 to 2,600 students; and (c) returned surplus funds out of his $30 million annual budget. This master teacher, also a small hotel business owner in the competitive seacoast market, resurrected two failing properties, created jobs, and (made) the all important community relationships needed to underpin a successful business.

Small business owners know firsthand the real effect of too many rules imposed by government, the effect of high business taxes and energy costs on the bottom line. Small business owners do the bill paying and personnel work themselves - there's no personnel or accounts payable departments! Dan's experience and proven skills are perfect preparation for carrying out the tasks of a sitting NH Senator representing District 24. His method of work in business and the university are evidence that he will use a transparent form of accountability, once elected, back to those who put him in office. Please vote for Dan Innis on Sept. 13. Thank you.

Susan Parker lives in Greenland.
