• Lawmakers OK Hampton liquor store lease amid lawsuit (unionleader.com) — State lawmakers have advanced a long-term lease for a new Hampton state liquor store, with a guaranteed minimum base rent projected at $33 million and additional percentage rents on sales, fuel, and EV charging. Some officials questioned whether the terms match revenue potential compared with Hooksett, and the lease now heads to the Executive Council for possible approval as early as next month.
   

• Hobbs named UNH Campus Police Chief (wzid.com) — Former Hampton Police Chief David Hobbs has been named the new Chief of Campus Police for the University of New Hampshire, overseeing safety operations across Durham, Manchester, and Concord. Hobbs, who led Hampton's department until 2022, steps into the role after his predecessor resigned, with an official swearing-in ceremony planned for early October.
   

• Seacoast business featured in Olivia Rodrigo's music festival (wmur.com) — A Hampton-based small business, Kaylie Reads at the Live Freely Market, just scored a major spotlight by selling its pressed-flower bookmarks at Olivia Rodrigo's Daisy Chain Fields music festival. Owner Kaylie Lathrop says the experience has boosted her confidence and drive as she continues growing her Seacoast shop's bookmarks, stickers, book art, and surprise book series.
