The Community Oven's "Community Mondays" begins next week with packed night of fun for a well-known cause.

When Shane Pine had the idea to , he also wanted to make sure a hefty slice of community service and charity was also on the menu.

has done much to become a part of the charitable backbone of Hampton in the few months since its , and starting on Monday, July 16, the business will grow that effort with a new monthly campaign called "Community Mondays."

Pine said his restaurant will also be open on Mondays to members of the charity looking to hold special events or gatherings in celebration of that fundraising, and Pine said they've decided to start the campaign with a event-filled night from 6 to 9 p.m. on July 16 to support Children's Hospital at Dartmouth-Hitchcock.

"When we were thinking about kicking this off, we were thinking we should get a really good organization that… everybody can kind of connect to," said Pine. "There are a lot of local charities that have just a general funding need of $2,000. If we can take the whole month and donate proceeds on Mondays for that entire month for one particular charity — they could meet their needs for funding in one effort instead of [numerous small events or door-to-door campaigns]."

Miss New Hampshire Megan Lyman will also be on hand for the event, and Republican gubernatorial candidate Kevin Smith may make an appearance, according to Pine.

"It’s been this really big snowball effect it's just been starting to building off of," said Pine, who said his restaurant will be open for regular business as well on July 16. "CHaD is a great organization. I anticipate this event being very successful and it’s going to well-needed cause."
