PSNH Rate Hike Approved, Locals to Pay More

The average customer's bill will go up about $6 a month.

Public Service of New Hampshire's request for a rate hike was approved by the Public Utilities Commission on Friday, according to the Union Leader.

This means that PSNH's electric customers – including those in Hampton and North Hampton – will see an average rate hike of about $6 a month.

The power company says the rate hike was needed because of the anticipated higher price of power and a loss of customers to other electric providers.
