Seabrook Beach Drowning: Couple In Rip Current Tragedy ID'd

The Methuen couple were among seven pulled from the water at Seabrook Beach Sunday.

SEABROOK, NH — A woman pulled from a rip current at Seabrook Beach has died Monday, one day after her husband died. The Methuen couple were among seven people pulled from the water Sunday.

Authorities have identified the deceased as Michael Cote, 49, and Laura Cote, 47. Police said they were unconscious when pulled from the water.

People were caught in choppy waters around 12:30 p.m., police said. The couple were reportedly treated with CPR and rushed to the hospital.

Police said a good Samaritan helped bring the group to shore.

Seabrook Police had warned beachgoers Sunday of dangerous currents.
