• Squam Lakes Science Center looking for a few good bat counters (therochestervoice.com) — Holderness residents can help track local bat populations at Squam Lakes Natural Science Center’s free NH Bat Counts Training on June 4, 7–9 p.m. The evening includes an indoor talk and outdoor counting demo, with a second community bat count on July 22. It’s a hands-on way to support statewide bat conservation without leaving town. 
• Squam Lakes Association Arboretum Tour (newenglandnewspress.com) — A free arboretum tour and mindfulness workshop is coming to the Squam Lakes Association campus on US Route 3 in Holderness on Saturday, June 20, from noon to 2 p.m. You’ll learn to identify local trees, explore the community arboretum, and try guided nature-based mindfulness activities. Families are welcome, but children must attend with an adult.
