Keene to Gather Public Input on Robin Hood Park Upgrades (magic967.com) — Keene is asking residents to help shape the next phase of upgrades at Robin Hood Park, with a public input session on Sept. 15 at the Keene Parks and Recreation Center. Planned work in East Keene could overhaul the playground, restrooms, parking, and tennis and pickleball courts, following separate pool repairs expected to be finished before next summer.
   

2. Locals Set to Blueprint Downtown Keene's Future Ahead of Major Construction (mykeenenow.com) — Downtown Keene residents and business owners are being asked to help choose which revitalization ideas should move forward before major Main Street construction begins. A double-session workshop on Sept. 17 at SHOWROOM will narrow months of community feedback into concrete projects and outline how a new grant will support events, retail strategies, and cultural initiatives.
   

3. Keene Music Festival Returns Saturday with Seven Stages, Dozens of Local Acts (mykeenenow.com) — Downtown Keene will be packed with free live music this Saturday, Sept. 5, as the Keene Music Festival takes over seven stages from morning through night. Dozens of New England bands, including returning act Gwell-O, will perform across venues like Railroad Square, City Tire, and Black Cloud Brewing, with an all-ages atmosphere and an official afterparty planned.
   

4. Brattleboro VA Outpatient Clinic resumes normal operations (unionleader.com) — Veterans who had been traveling from Keene to other VA clinics while Brattleboro’s outpatient facility was under repair can now return there, as it has resumed normal operations. The White River Junction VA system thanked patients for using Keene, Greenfield, and telehealth options during the closure and shared updated contact numbers for appointments and care coordination.
   

5. Finding Freedom in New Hampshire: Teaching the Story of Ona Judge (mountvernon.org) — A Keene school librarian, Brenda Haenchen of Symonds Elementary, is helping lead an October 2 teacher workshop in Portsmouth that uses Ona Judge’s life to explore slavery and freedom. Keene educators who register can examine primary sources, tour Black Heritage Trail sites, and bring back classroom-ready social studies materials connecting national history to New Hampshire stories.
