• Investigation underway after Laconia school fire (vnews.com) — State investigators are probing a suspicious fire that destroyed a three-story building at the former Laconia State School property early Sunday, after crews from across the Lakes Region spent about two hours knocking it down. With the abandoned, 217-acre site now privately owned and other buildings still vacant, officials say the lack of utilities makes the fire’s cause especially concerning, though no injuries were reported. 
• Woman Arrested After Route 101 Chase With Troopers: New Hampshire State Police News Roundup (patch.com) — New Hampshire State Police detail a busy few weeks on the roads, including a Route 101 chase ending in an arrest and numerous DUI and reckless driving charges statewide, plus a recent forgery and theft-by-deception arrest in Laconia. The roundup also notes a drowning in Swanzey and targeted truck enforcement efforts responding to safety complaints from Plaistow residents.
• New Hampshire couple getting attention for its pet goose Gabby (wmur.com) — A beloved pet goose named Gabby has become a minor celebrity around New Hampshire, even charming huge crowds at Laconia’s Pumpkin Fest during a day-long meet-and-greet.
