1. Soda-soaked eggs and a lost tooth: Med student teaches oral health in Lebanon (vnews.com) — Soda-soaked eggs helped Hanover Street School third-graders learn about dental health during a visit from Dartmouth medical student Moreen Ng. Her Lebanon lesson is part of an Upper Valley school outreach project aimed at building healthy habits in a region where many residents struggle to afford or find dental care.
   

2. Two arrested in narcotics investigation in Lebanon (newportdispatch.com) — Two people face drug distribution charges after Lebanon police and federal agents searched the Village at Crafts Hill on November 6. Police reported finding suspected cocaine, crack cocaine and fentanyl, along with cash and a stolen firearm. Hayley Colburn, of Lebanon, and Jarvis Lawrence, of Connecticut, are scheduled for arraignment November 9.
   

3. Democrats gain across Upper Valley; Republicans hold Senate District 8 and Newport-area seats (vnews.com) — Democrats gained ground across the Upper Valley and won control of New Hampshire’s House, Senate and Executive Council, while Republican Gov. Kelly Ayotte secured reelection. Sullivan County’s House delegation flipped to a Democratic majority, but Republicans retained Senate District 8 and all three House seats representing Newport, Charlestown and Unity.
   

4. Jury Clears Lyndeborough Man in Keene Toddler Death Case (magic967.com) — A Cheshire County jury found Annthoni Bliss of Lyndeborough not guilty of second-degree murder Friday in the death of 23-month-old Luca Hudson. The Keene toddler died at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon in 2024. During the nine-day trial, prosecution and defense experts offered conflicting explanations for his fatal injuries.
   

5. Susan Newell (vtdigger.org) — Susan Newell, a Scottish-born registered nurse and certified midwife, died September 11 in Lebanon at age 73. A graduate of the Edinburgh School of Nursing, she moved to the United States nearly 48 years ago and maintained strong Scottish ties through Highland Games across New England. Survivors include her son, Cooper, and brother, Rod.
