• After years of debate, the Mill Pond Dam removal is now underway in Durham (nhpr.org) — Work is underway to remove Durham’s Mill Pond Dam on the Oyster River, which also flows through Lee, promising long-term improvements to water quality and fish habitat in the shared watershed. As crews drain the former pond and prepare to breach the 1913 structure, residents in Lee may see ecological benefits downstream as the river is restored to a more natural, free‑flowing state.
