In early July, police received information from the New Hampshire Division for Children, Youth and Families about a 3-month-old infant possibly being abused.

"At the time of the report," Det. Lt. Garrett Malloy of the Londonderry Police Department said, "the infant was receiving care at Boston Children's Hospital."

Detectives began investigating how the child became injured, conducting multiple interviews with the child's parents, medical personnel, and social workers with DCYF. Investigators determined, Malloy said, the child had sustained "non-accidental" injuries during the early morning hours on July 5.

Malloy said probable cause was established that Cole, the child's father, "caused the injuries."

A warrant was issued for his arrest and Cole turned himself in on a warrant on Monday. He was charged and held without bail. Cole was arraigned in Derry District Court on Tuesday and released on $5,000 cash bail.
