Blasting Begins on I-93

Blasting begins next week during non-commuting hours as part of the expansion project.

CONCORD, NH - The New Hampshire Department of Transportation (NHDOT) announced this week that it will begin blasting operations along I-93 in Derry starting on April 4, 2016, according to a press statement.

Blasting work will take place during non-commuter hours between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Monday through Friday during the 2016 construction season. The blasting is required to construct the new alignment of I-93 northbound and southbound, according to NH DOT Public Information Officer Bill Boynton, between Exit 3 and Exit 4 between Derry and Wyndham.

Rolling road blocks will be used to slow northbound and southbound traffic on I-93 during blasting operations, resulting in minor delays. Motorists should remain alert while traveling through the construction zone and obey all posted signs.
