LONDONDERRY, NH — A woman from Concord is facing felony charges in two southern New Hampshire communities accused of stealing an SUV and driving recklessly which led to the vehicle being a potentially deadly weapon during one of the alleged incidents.

Around 6:15 p.m. on Feb. 6, officers in Londonderry were sent to the 7-Eleven on Rockingham Road to investigate a possible stolen SUV. The owner of the SUV, a 2006 Toyota RAV4 from Connecticut, told police he left it unlocked and running in the parking lot and went into the store. A store employee alerted him to a woman getting into the SUV and driving off.

The suspect was described as a white woman, in her 20s, wearing a sweatshirt, leggings, and tan boots.

The store employee told police the woman had been at the store the past several weeks before with other people but he did not know her name. On this day, she was alone, he said. The officer eyed surveillance video confirming the theft and gave a description to other officers.

About two hours later, an officer saw the SUV on Rockingham Road again near the store.

The officer attempted to stop it but the SUV continued to drive away. The officer accused the vehicle of reaching speeds of 50 mph while passing several other vehicles on the left side of the road causing it to venture into the opposite lane of traffic, an affidavit said.

More officers chased the vehicle onto Mammoth Road in Windham where the SUV turned onto Route 111. Windham police officers deployed a spike strip, which was ineffective, and the SUV drove onto Interstate 93. From there, the chase was suspended, an officer said.

The next day, the officer spoke with another 7-Eleven employee who offered more information — the woman was often at the store, wearing the same outfit, with a man, and they were often “being suspicious.” She suspected they were using an outside electrical outlet, the report said. Previously, the employee said, police were called and they were moved along, including five days before.

The officer eyed the report from five days before and identified the suspect as Queen Tiara Wilson, 23, of Liberty Street in Concord. A man was also with Wilson at the early morning call, an affidavit stated.

In Plaistow at the same time, police were sent to Westville Road for a report of two suspicious people urinating and loitering in the area for an extended period of time.

Officers went to the area and found the stolen SUV with Connecticut plates with Wilson in the driver’s seat and the man sleeping in the passenger seat, according to an affidavit. She was arrested on Feb. 7, and read her rights, the report said. After being taken into custody, Wilson motioned to the officer and said, “(the man) had nothing to do with this. I stole the car,” according to an affidavit.

Wilson was charged with a single felony count of receiving stolen property, more than $1,501.

During processing, another staffer with the Plaistow Police Department saw a post online from Londonderry police about their stolen SUV incident and realized Wilson matched security footage of the Londonderry incident — including a unique pair of tan boots she was wearing with a “fuzzy design” on them.

Tipsters also informed Londonderry police their suspect was Wilson.

One provided police with a photo taken from a Walmart security camera in Derry while another said they used to work with her at Hannaford in Derry.

“(The source) stated he wasn’t sure what the women’s name was but she liked to be called ‘Queen’,” the report said.

A warrant was issued for Wilson’s arrest for theft by unauthorized taking, more than $1,501, and reckless conduct-deadly weapon charges, both felonies, as well as reckless operation, disobeying an officer, and two traffic control device violations based on the Londonderry incident.

Wilson was scheduled to be arraigned on Feb. 24 in Rockingham County Superior Court. The court sent her mail but it was returned and a warrant was issued for her arrest. Wilson appeared in court on March 7.
