Londonderry Man Arrested On Attempted Murder Charges, Accused Of Injuring 2 Women With Hatchet, Knife
Chandler Walden was arrested Sunday night after an argument about spraying Febreze led to a gruesome attack on family members on Chase Road.

LONDONDERRY, NH — A man from Londonderry was arrested and held without bail after being accused of attacking family members with a hatchet and a steak knife on Sunday night.
Officers were sent to Chase Road around 8:45 p.m. for a report of a stabbing. A caller told dispatch there was a woman with wounds who had run out of the home. The caller also stated a family member was a suspect in the incident.
When the first officer arrived, they found neighbors tending to two victims in the driveway. The suspect, later identified Chandler Ross Walden, 29, of Chase Road, was inside the home and “exited the residence with no issues,” an affidavit said.

One victim was taken to Parkland Medical Center. She endured about 10 lacerations to the torso and head.
She told an officer Walden had argued with her and the other woman when they returned home, and then went after the second victim with “a hammer-like object.” She heard her yelling about a hatchet, but her glasses got knocked off, and she was unable to confirm whether the weapon was a hammer or a hatchet, the report said. The victim “placed herself” between the first woman and Walden, who attacked her, the affidavit said.
“(The victim) stated that she heard Walden exclaim, ‘After all the years of abuse, it ends tonight. I’m going to end this tonight,’ during the attack,” the officer wrote.
The second victim was taken to Elliot Hospital. She also sustained about 10 lacerations during the attack.
During an interview with police, she said when the women returned home, Walden was “spraying Febreze around the house when he then began to yell,” a report said. Walden then attacked the women with a steak knife and a hatchet, the affidavit said.
Detectives responded to the incident, requested a search warrant, and found the weapons in Walden’s room, inside a trash can, where he told police they would be, the report said.
Walden was arrested and charged with two counts of attempted murder, first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, two counts of first-degree assault with a deadly weapon, second-degree assault-serious bodily injury, and two counts of second-degree assault with a deadly weapon, all felonies.
Walden was arraigned on Monday and offered no plea on the felony charges. He was held on preventative detention. Walden requested a lawyer, but the request was denied because his “cash on hand is too high,” according to a court filing. The request was approved later to ensure Walden had counsel for a probable cause hearing.
