Police investigated the incident, stated the girl had lived with the couple for a few weeks, moving to Londonderry from another state, and later, moved back to her home. The woman and a second woman accused MacDonald of “cuddling” and “spooning” with the girl, in an effort to make her feel better, and was told it was unacceptable behavior, the report stated.

On Feb. 1, the girl was examined and interviewed, and according to an affidavit, said she was in love with MacDonald and they had engaged in illegal activity. She also accused MacDonald, while he was in the hospital, of requesting she not speak to authorities or her family about their interaction. According to the affidavit, the victim stated she was taught to always be honest.

After speaking with a third woman, the detective issued a warrant against MacDonald on aggravated felonious sexual assault-domestic violence, incest-victim under 18, and witness tampering charges, all felonies.
