Merrimack Trucker Strikes Cruiser in Londonderry
New Hampshire State Police urge motorists to use care, reduce speeds during inclement weather.
A local man was reportedly driving his truck too fast and crashed into a state police cruiser this morning, according to the New Hampshire State Police.
A state trooper from Troop B in Bedford was called to a motor vehicle crash at the top of the on ramp of Exit 4 and Route 102 in Londonderry at around 11 a.m. on Feb. 3, 2015. The trooper positioned his cruiser to protect the scene of the crash. The cruiser also had its emergency lights on to warn drivers to slow down in the area.
As the trooper was dealing with the accident, a white box truck driven by Raymond Wallace of Merrimack, turned to take the northbound onramp.

“As he began to negotiate the turn for the onramp, he slid on the slush covered roadway and struck the rear of the cruiser,” according to Lt. Paul Hunt of the New Hampshire State Police. “This crash was a result of Raymond Wallace driving too fast for the existing road conditions.”
Neither the trooper nor Wallace was injured. Both vehicles were driven from the scene, according to the report.

A similar crash occurred in Concord earlier this morning where a Henniker woman struck a state trooper cruiser.
Lt. Gregory Ferry of the New Hampshire State Police urged motorists to “use due care and reduce their vehicle speed during inclement weather” or whatever the road conditions are at the time.
“Troopers’ lives depend on it,” he stated.
