“Cherry should be considered armed and dangerous,” O’Keefe said in a statement. “He is wanted on two counts of first-degree assault and one count of felon in possession of a firearm. Dupuis is wanted on a warrant for possession of controlled drug-heroin.”
Police were sent to the hotel at just before 9 p.m. for a report of a man shot inside one of the rooms. The man, in his 40s and from Boston, MA, was visiting a female acquaintance when an argument ensued. This led to a physical altercation with another man, according to police, and the Boston man was shot in the neck. He sustained a serious, but non-life threatening gunshot wound to his neck during the altercation.
Police officers and detectives arrived on scene and began the investigation, according to O’Keefe, and detectives identified Cherry and Dupuis as being inside the hotel room at the time of the shooting.
A second shooting incident was reported at 9:55 p.m. in a different part of the city but it’s unknown if the two shootings are related, according to police.
