Police: Teen Caught Breaking Into Cars, Steals Shotgun

Manchester Police charge Kevin Garcia earlier this morning; a 16-year-old also faces charges.

Manchester Police busted two teenagers this morning for allegedly breaking into motor vehicles, according to a report.

At around 4:20 a.m. on May 23, 2015, officers were called to Huse Road near Weston Road for a report of kids on bikes going through vehicles.

They detained two of the kids but a third one reportedly fled the area before backup officers arrived.

“The two individuals were found to have three backpacks containing numerous items,” according to Det. Sgt. Timothy Patterson. “During the subsequent investigation several of the items located were found to have been taken from unsecured motor vehicles in the Huse Road area.”

The two teens – a 16-year-old from Manchester and Kevin R. Garcia, 17, pictured, of Manchester – were charged with loitering or prowling and receiving stolen property.

Garcia also received a felony theft by unauthorized taking charge after one of the items allegedly found in his backpack was a shotgun, according to Patterson.

The Manchester Police Department continues to investigate this situation and additional charges may be forthcoming.
