Queen City Police Investigate Vandalism, Antisemitic Spray-Paint At The Moka Pot On Hanover Street (patch.com) — Manchester residents are being urged to come forward after antisemitic graffiti and broken windows were discovered overnight at The Moka Pot on Hanover Street, now being investigated as a hate crime. Police Chief Peter Marr condemned the intimidation, the state's Civil Rights Unit has been notified, and a local attorney is offering a reward for information leading to a conviction.
2. Is environmental protection for Lake Massabesic slip-sliding away? (inklink.news) — A Manchester attorney and abutter is challenging the city's decision to sell 21.3 acres near Lake Massabesic for the 34-home Overlook Estates project, warning it could harm the drinking-water watershed. He argues Manchester Water Works should prioritize protecting the lake over funding construction or easing the housing crunch, and notes the Planning Board meets again Thursday evening at City Hall on related matters.
3. You can drop off cards at Manchester City Hall or join a Sept. 23 community event at The Goat Manchester, where writing five cards even earns free wings and music.
5. NH Notebook: Kelly's World (nhmagazine.com) — A new book, "Manchester Through the Lens of Frank Kelly," showcases decades of Queen City life, from Belmont Street families to downtown landmarks and visiting political figures. Curated with the Manchester Historic Association, the project grew from a Millyard Museum exhibit and uses thousands of preserved negatives to highlight everyday scenes, weddings, and iconic spots many Manchester residents will recognize.
