MANCHESTER, NH — Police are investigating a series of overnight vandalism incidents involving hateful messages found in several parts of the city Saturday morning.
Police identified 15 incidents in three areas, Candia Road, Gabrielle Street, and South Beech Street, and described them as criminal mischief.
The department said the incidents involved antisemitic, racist, and homophobic content. The acts appear to be random at this point in the investigation, with no indication that specific individuals or properties were intentionally targeted.
The discovery came about one month after a previously reported incident at a Manchester coffee shop, according to the source material.
"Acts of vandalism involving antisemitic, racist, and homophobic slurs are unacceptable and have no place in Manchester." Police Chief Peter Marr said. "This type of conduct is harmful, divisive, and deeply disrespectful to the individuals and communities targeted. Everyone deserves to feel safe and respected, and we take incidents like these seriously. We are actively investigating this matter and will work to hold those responsible accountable."
Police said the investigation remains ongoing. The department is asking anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or has surveillance footage from those areas to contact Manchester police at 603-668-8711.
