  1. On Friday, in a question-and-answer session at Dartmouth College, senators Jeanne Shaheen (D-N.H.) and Rob Portman (R-Ohio) agreed that international stability "hinges on Ukraine’s ability to decide its own path forward.” Portman, a 1978 graduate of Dartmouth College, also said, “Freedom loving countries all over the world are stepping up... If not us, who?” You can read more about this story here: (Subscription/The Union Leader)
  2. The 2022 Independence Day Celebration and fireworks display will be on Sunday, July 3 at Arms Park in Manchester, with a rain date of Tuesday, July 5. Admission is free and everyone’s invited! Fireworks will begin around dusk, and vendors at Arm's Park will be open at 6 p.m. Both the East and West bound sides of the Notre Dame (Bridge Street) Bridge will be closed to all traffic (including pedestrians) at 8 a.m. on July 3. No pets are allowed. (Manchester Ink Link)
  3. You still have time to apply for Round 2 of the Community Event and Activation Grant Program offered by the City of Manchester. Applications for the funds for community events and activities can be submitted until Aug. 15. The grants are part of the American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funding approved by the Board of Mayor and Aldermen in 2021. The program provides grants of up to $10,000 that will "support and increase" additional community-based projects and events that will help Manchester recover from the negative effects of COVID-19.
