CONCORD, NH — The New Hampshire Cold Case Unit has renewed its appeal for public assistance in the 1997 unsolved homicide of Rosalie Miller.

Attorney General John M. Formella and New Hampshire State Police Colonel Mark B. Hall announced the renewed effort on behalf of the Unit this week.

Rosalie Miller, 36, of Manchester, was found deceased on Jan. 20, 1997. Her body was located in a partially wooded area on a residential lot along the Londonderry Turnpike in Auburn, New Hampshire. An autopsy determined Miller died from asphyxiation due to ligature strangulation, and her death was ruled a homicide.

The Cold Case Unit is releasing a previously uncirculated photograph of Miller. This photograph aims to prompt memories from individuals who may have seen or spoken with her in the winter of 1996.

Miller was last seen on Dec. 8, 1996, at her apartment in Manchester. At that time, she reportedly intended to meet with friends in the Auburn area. Her body was discovered several weeks later.

“Our family wants to know what happened, who did this and why,” the family of Rosalie Miller said in a statement. “We miss her and want to give her peace.”

Senior Assistant Attorney General R. Christopher Knowles, Chief of the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit, emphasized the Unit's dedication.

“The passage of time does not lessen our commitment to uncovering the truth for Rosalie Miller and her family,” he said. “We are releasing this new photograph today because we believe someone out there has information, perhaps a detail they thought was insignificant at the time, that could be the key to solving this case and bringing justice for Rosalie and those who loved her.”

The New Hampshire Cold Case Unit is specifically interested in speaking with anyone who had contact with Rosalie Miller in December 1996. They also seek information from anyone who may have seen her near the Londonderry Turnpike in Auburn during that period.

Anyone with information, regardless of how minor it may seem, is urged to contact the New Hampshire Cold Case Unit. Tips can be submitted by email to coldcaseunit@dos.nh.gov or by phone at 603-271-2663. All tips can remain anonymous.
