What Easterseals' Rochester adult day care closure means for seniors (seacoastonline.com) — Easterseals is shutting down its adult day programs in both Manchester and Rochester, along with homemaker and personal care services statewide, by October 17 due to financial and staffing pressures. State and county officials say they're scrambling to coordinate alternative care, warning that Manchester-area seniors could face more nursing home placements and longer waitlists if in‑home support disappears.
   

2. Jury Finds Haverhill Man Guilty of Seeking Sex with 12-Year-Old (whav.net) — A federal jury has convicted a Haverhill man who traveled to a Manchester, N.H., hotel during a 2024 sting, believing he would pay for sex with a 12-year-old. Homeland Security Investigations, Manchester police and state agencies collaborated on the case, and the defendant remains held while awaiting sentencing in November.
   

3. TV Meteorologist Makes a Move Within Hearst and Within New England (newsblues.com) — TV meteorologist Marissa Vigevani is moving from Hearst's Burlington NBC affiliate to WMUR-TV in Manchester, bringing her New England weather experience to local viewers. She calls the move a bittersweet next step, saying she may still appear on-air from New Hampshire when storms get intense.

Proper food safety practices can help protect your family from illness (wmur.com) — From Manchester, health experts are reassuring residents that lettuce is generally safe again after a recent cyclosporiasis outbreak linked to imported iceberg. They urge shoppers to wash produce thoroughly, scrub or peel firm fruits and vegetables, and cook items to safe temperatures to reduce the risk of foodborne illness at home.
   

5. In Visit to New Hampshire Job Corps, Sha... (senate.gov) — U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen visited the New Hampshire Job Corps Center in Manchester to tour its training facilities and hear directly from students about how the program is shaping their careers. She highlighted the Manchester center's role in workforce development, partnerships with local colleges, and her long-running push in Washington to keep Job Corps funded for Granite State students.
