UPDATE: 4K Eversource, Unitil Customers Without Power in NH

Power is being restored after thunderstorms cause damage around the Granite State.

More than 15,000 New Hampshire residents were without power due to thunderstorms hitting the state since about 2 p.m. on July 18, 2016.

At just before 9 p.m., about 4,000 customers of both companies were still without power, down from 7,200 customers at 6:30 p.m.

Eversource reported about 1,900 of its customers still without power with large outages remaining in Derry, Litchfield, Londonderry, and Pittsburg. Unitil reported more than 2,100 without power. More than 1,000 customers in Plaistow as well as hundreds in Kensington, Newton, and Seabrook. Smaller outages are being reported in Atkinson, Hampton, Hampstead, Hampton Falls, and South Hampton. Restoration times are sometime between 1 and 4 a.m. on July 19, according to the company.

Eversource at 4 p.m. reported more than 13,000 without power, about 3 percent of its customers in New Hampshire. Most of the company’s outages are clustered in the northern and southern part of the state.

Merrimack had more than 3,400 customers without power – about a third of the community at the height of the storm. Bedford had more than 1,400 without power, according to online outage maps. Hundreds of customers were also without power in Manchester, Londonderry, Nottingham, and Litchfield. Smaller outages were reported in Amherst and Windham.

The entire town of Pittsburg – 1,650 customers, in the most northern part of the state – was without power after the storms hit and tornado warnings were also issued for Coos County.

Unitil also reported more than 2,100 customers without power including more than 600 in both Plaistow and Atkinson. Smaller outages were reported in Hampton Falls, Kensington, Newton, Seabrook, and South Hampton.
