Bay State Juggler Attempted to Flee Merrimack Traffic Stop: Cops

Police: Jemimah Ndungi, a convicted drunk driver, was arrested Saturday on the Everett Turnpike for open container, other charges.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Bay State woman was arrested on Saturday and held on cash bail after allegedly driving while not being licensed with an open container, according to police. Jemimah Ndungi, 29, of Lowell, MA, was arrested on Oct. 15, 2016, and charged with operating after revocation-subsequent, disobeying a police officer, and open container.

According to police, at around 6 p.m., an officer in the area of Bedford Road and Exit 12 of the Everett Turnpike reported noticed a vehicle committing a minor motor vehicle infraction and pulled the vehicle over on the Exit 12 onramp.

“The operator did not have any identification on her but provided information to the officer,” according to Sgt. Kenneth MacLeod of the Merrimack Police Department. “Upon further investigation by the officer, the information that was provided the second time was different from what was originally provided. At this point, the operator began to drive away however the officer was able to prevent the vehicle from leaving and took the operator into custody.”

After the arrest, the officer learned that Ndungi’s license in Massachusetts was revoked. An open alcoholic beverage was allegedly found inside the vehicle.

Ndungi was held on $500 cash bail and arraigned this morning.

Ndungi, who lists her occupation as a "juggler" on LinkedIn, is no stranger to being pulled over for alcohol violations, according to reports online.

Back in February 2012, according to a post on Patch, Ndungi, who was living in Boston's Jamaica Plain neighborhood at the time, was arrested in Westborough, for operating a motor vehicle with a license suspended for OUI. She was arrested for driving under the influence earlier that year, according to the Worcester Telegram & Gazette. In December 2013, according to Worcester District Court records published in the T&G, she was arrested a second time for driving while under the influence of alcohol as well as marked lanes violation and speeding.
