Cardboard Box Sledding Contest at Winter Carnival!
Create your own cardboard box sled and complete a mind chilling descent down a snow covered hill!
Join the fun during the 23rd Annual Winter Carnival at Wasserman Park on Saturday, February 21st from 12:00 pm – 3:00 pm and participate in our “Cardboard Box Sledding Contest”! Test your creativity by constructing a person powered, corrugated cardboard sled capable of withstanding and completing a mind chilling descent down the snow covered hill! Races start at 1:30 pm and will be judged by originality, costumes and construction design. Prizes will be awarded for; fastest sled, best use of cardboard, and most creative design! Sled themes, costumes and enthusiasm are strongly recommended! Advanced registration is required. To download the registration form, visit our website at: www.merrimackparksandrec.org/sled.html. The registration deadline is Thursday, February 19th.
Enjoy a day of FREE family activities at the Winter Carnival including; Youth Ice Fishing Derby with the Merrimack Lions Club, Snowmobile rides with the Merrimack Sno-Buds, Snowshoeing courtesy of Eastern Mountain Sports of Nashua, Snowman Building Contest sponsored by Girl Scout Troop 10623, Outdoor camp fire with S’More making, Walnut Hollow Farm – Horse Care Demo & Photo opportunity, Independent Karate School demonstration, Southern NH Flying Eagles, The Learning Experience, Nature Walks Conservation Society, Friends of the Merrimack Dog Park, Merrimack Leo’s Club, Merrimack Friends & Family, Relay for Life of Greater Nashua and Town Center Committee.
Inside the Function Hall, local non-profit organizations will offer a variety of delicious snacks and refreshments with proceeds benefiting their organization.
