Concord Man Arrested In Merrimack On Theft Charge

Daniel Laplante allegedly stole $160 from a private area of a Merrimack hotel. He was arrested in Londonderry, transported to back to town.

MERRIMACK, NH — A capital region man was arrested last month on a theft charge after an alleged incident at a local hotel, according to police. Daniel Laplante, 32, of Bridal Path Trail in Concord, was arrested on Nov. 30, 2017, for theft by unauthorized taking. Merrimack Police were called to the Holiday Inn on Nov. 26, for a report of a theft, according to Sgt. Marcotte of the Merrimack Police Department.

“Officers were informed that $160 in cash had been stolen from a private area at the hotel that is not open to the public,” Marcotte stated. “After an investigation, evidence showed that Daniel Laplante, who was a guest at the hotel at the time, was responsible for the theft.”

A warrant was issued for his arrest and he was picked up by Londonderry Police on Nov. 30. Police there transported Laplante to Merrimack for processing. He was released on personal recognizance bail and is scheduled to appear in Merrimack District Court on Jan. 9, 2018.

Laplante, according to New Hampshire State Police, was arrested for drunk driving eight days before while driving on I-93 South in Bow.
