According to Sgt. Eric Marquis of the Merrimack Police Department, police were sent to a local business to assist with a child exchange between two people. One of the people believed that there might be an issue and asked that an officer be present during the exchange.

“The officer arrived and during the exchange one of the involved, Michael Annan, became agitated and began to yell obscenities at the other involved,” Marquis stated. “He was asked to stop his behavior by the officer which he did not. The officer then attempted to place Annan under arrest for his actions and he resisted. He was eventually placed under arrest.”
