Fight About Trash Can Leads to Theft Charge
Margaret Branch was arrested by the Merrimack Police Department yesterday.

MERRIMACK, NH — A local woman was arrested yesterday on a theft warrant after an argument about a garbage can on Kimberly Drive, according to Merrimack Police. Margaret Branch, 60, of Kimberly Drive in Merrimack, was arrested on Nov. 10, 2016, for theft by unauthorized taking.

According to police, a warrant against Branch was issued after a complaint about the theft of a trash can from another resident in the Kimberly Drive neighborhood.

“During the investigation, it was learned that Branch had some words with a neighbor’s young daughter about a trash can being left outside,” Lt. Dean KillKelley of the Merrimack Police Department alleged. “Branch later took the trash can and disposed of it.”
Branch was arrested and transported to the police department. She was later processed and released on $2,500 personal recognizance bail. Branch is due in court on Dec. 15.
