Hudson Man Arrested for Credit Card Fraud

Merrimack Police arrest Sean Smith after he allegedly stole a debit card and used it around town.

MERRIMACK, NH - A local man was arrested yesterday on credit card fraud charges after incidents that reportedly occurred around town last month.

Sean D. Smith, 28, of Dena Drive in Hudson, was arrested on Feb. 18, 2016, and charged with two counts fraud-credit card.

According to police, in late January, a complaint was filed with police that Smith had allegedly stolen a debit card from the victim and used it at various locations around Merrimack.

After an investigation into the allegation, including reviewing video surveillance, police allege that Smith used the stolen debit card at two ATMs, and reportedly withdrew more than $600.

A warrant was issued for Smith’s arrest and he was charged yesterday. He was arraigned today, according to police.

Back in December 2011, according to a post on Nashua Patch, Smith was arrested for driving after revocation/suspension and disobeying an officer. In July 2013, according to Nashua Police, he was arrested for failure to appear at an arraignment.
