Man Fails to Evade Police with Phony Name: Cops

David Rivera of Manchester was arrested in Merrimack last week on numerous charges.

MERRIMACK, NH – Allegedly giving a phony name to police didn’t keep this Queen City man from being arrested last week, according to police.

David L. Rivera, 42, of Laurel Street in Manchester, was arrested on Dec. 13, 2015, and charged with operating after suspension, disobeying a police officer, and operating without a valid license.

At around 8 p.m. on the date in question, an officer stopped a motor vehicle on the Daniel Webster Highway after observing a motor vehicle violation.

The man reportedly gave the officer a false name but after investigating the claim, the officer was able to determine it was Rivera.

“A records check showed that Rivera’s driver’s license was suspended out of Pennsylvania,” according to Sgt. Kenneth MacLeod of the Merrimack Police Department. “He was subsequently arrested for disobeying a police officer for providing a false name to the officer, operating after suspension and operating without a valid driver’s license.”

Rivera was released on $1,500 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Jan. 21, 2016.
