Man, Passed Out At The Wheel, Arrested On 2nd OUI Charge: Cops
Steven Ellis Jr. of Amherst was arrested in Merrimack in July after police reportedly found his vehicle in the middle of the road.

MERRIMACK, NH — An Amherst man is facing another drunken driving charge after an arrest late last month, according to police in Merrimack. At around 1:30 a.m. on July 24, an officer driving on the Daniel Webster Highway saw a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. A male driver appeared to be "passed out behind the wheel," according Sgt. Brandon Gagnon of the Merrimack Police Department.
"When contact was made with the driver … the officer observed possible signs of impairment," Gagnon said. "After a brief investigation, Ellis was taken into custody for OUIL."
A records check revealed that Ellis' driver's license was revoked due to a previous OUIL charge so an operating after revocation charge was added to his arrest docket. He was processed and released on personal recognizance bail with a court date of Aug. 8.
