Mass. Sex Offender Gets 18 Months in Prison
Beau Shields of South Barre, MA, formerly of Merrimack, was sentenced on Friday to prison time for failing to register.

CONCORD, NH — A former Granite Stater was sent to prison to 18 months last week for failing to register as a sex offender, according to the U.S. District Court. Beau Shields, 30, of South Barre, MA, pleaded guilty in October 2016, and was sentenced on April 14, 2017.
“Shields moved from New Hampshire to Massachusetts some time before April 2016 and did not register in Massachusetts and did not advise New Hampshire authorities that he was living in Massachusetts,” according to Acting-U.S. Attorney John J. Farley. “SORNA mandates that a person who is required to register must register in each jurisdiction where he resides, is employed or is going to school. SORNA gives an individual three days in which to register.”
Shields was also given five years of required supervision after he finishes his jail time.
