Mass. Woman Injured in Fiery Everett Turnpike Crash
NHSP: Dakota Willette of Burlington, MA, was medflighted to Boston this morning after suffering injuries in a crash just south of Exit 10.
MERRIMACK, NH — A Massachusetts woman is in a Boston hospital after losing control of her Toyota Camry, crashing into trees on the Everett Turnpike, where the vehicle burst into flames, according to the New Hampshire State Police. Dakota Willette, 23, of Burlington, was traveling on the southbound side of the highway this morning just south of Exit 10 in Merrimack when she lost control of the vehicle and struck the tree line on the right side of the turnpike, according to Lt. N.A. Noyes of the NSHP.
The first responding trooper noted that the vehicle was “engulfed in flames” as he arrived at the scene and along with good Samaritans who stopped to help, removed the driver from the vehicle.
Merrimack Fire and Rescue teams as well as police also arrived and administered first aid to the woman. She was airlifted to Boston for injuries suffered in the crash and due to the fire.

The crash remains under investigation and at post time, state police have no idea why Willette lost control of her vehicle. The turnpike was closed for about 25 minutes to allow for the helicopter to land and take Willette to Boston.
