Massachusetts Man Arrested On Computer Sex Charge In Merrimack
Police: Jean Maxi Jr. of Fitchburg sent explicit messages and attempted to lure a person he thought was a girl to perform sexual acts.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Bay State man was arrested and held without bail after being accused of attempting to lure a person he thought was a teenage girl for sex in Merrimack. On New Year's Day, police in Merrimack who are affiliated with New Hampshire Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force began investigating Jean Maxi Jr., 34, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts. Lt. Chris Spillane accused Maxi of "communicating through a computer online service with someone he believed was a 13-year-old juvenile female and sent sexually explicit messages to them."
Maxi was also accused of attempting to lure the girl for sexual acts at a location in Merrimack on Jan. 3.
"When officers approached Maxi, he led them on a brief foot pursuit before he was taken into custody," Spillane said.

Maxi was charged with felony certain uses of computer services prohibited and resisting arrest. He was held on preventative detention and taken to the Hillsborough County Jail. Maxi was arraigned in Hillsborough County Superior Court South Monday and later, released on personal recognizance bail.
Spillane added that police would like to remind parents to keep a watchful eye on their child’s cell phone and computer activity.
