According to police, an officer saw a vehicle crossing over the double yellow lines on Daniel Webster Highway. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, Donovan, allegedly showed signs of possible impairment.
“He failed the field sobriety tests and was placed under arrest for DWI,” according to Capt. Peter Albert of the Merrimack Police Department. “A check of his motor vehicle record revealed that he has previous conviction for DWI in 2010 out of the Salem, Mass. District court and in the Ipswich, Mass. District court in 2009.”

During processing his vehicle, police allegedly found a loaded handgun in the passenger compartment but Donovan reportedly didn’t possess a conceal carry permit, so the gun charge was added.
Donovan was released on $5,000 personal recognizance bail and is due in court on Sept. 29.
