Merrimack Mother And Son Charged With Assaulting Police Officers

Merrimack Police said they had to use taser on 52-year-old mother after she kicked two officers; 25-year-old son kicked and kneed officers.

MERRIMACK, NH — A Merrimack mother and son are charged with assaulting police and resisting arrest following an incident in which officers were kicked and kneed, and Merrimack Police tased the mother. Marian Dinneen, 52, is charged with three counts of simple assault and resisting arrest, while Trevor Dinneen, 25, is charged with four counts of simple assault on a police officer, felony criminal threatening, domestic violence assault, criminal mischief and resisting arrest.

Merrimack Police said they responded to a house call for a report of domestic assault involving a knife on Sunday. When officers attempted to question Trevor Dineen in front of the house, they said he tried to go back into the house and Marian Dinneen grabbed one of the officers.

During the ensuing struggle, police said both resisted arrest with Marian Dinneen kicking one officer twice and Trevor Dinneen kicking and kneeing two officers. Police said Marian Dinneen resisted so violently that she had to be subdued with a taser.

Police said an investigation revealed that Trevor Dinneen threatened another man at the house with a knife, used the knife to damage a vehicle and punched a person at the house in the face.

Marian Dinneen was released on personal recognizance and scheduled to appear in the 9th Circuit Merrimack District Court on Oct. 17. Trevor Dinneen refused bail and scheduled for arraignment at Hillsborough Superior Court.
