MERRIMACK, NH — A Nashua man was charged with three counts of domestic assault early Friday morning after he was accused of pushing a victim against a wall in a local hotel room. Merrimack Police said Jerry Fitzgerald Johnson fled the scene, but was later found and arrested when his gold sedan was pulled over on the Everett Turnpike.

Merrimack Police said they were called to the hotel shortly before midnight on Thursday night after a witness said the person later identified as Johnson pushed a victim up against the wall. Merrimack Police said an investigation revealed Johnson had assaulted the victim three separate times.

Johnson was not at the hotel when Merrimack Police arrived. A short time later, however, an officer stopped Johnson's car on the Everett Turnpike and he was arrested.
