Merrimack Police Charge NH Man Found Asleep In Running Car

MERRIMACK, NH — A Manchester man found asleep at the wheel of a running car with its lights on in the parking lot of a closed Merrimack restaurant was arrested early Friday morning. Merrimack police charged Robert Norman, 55, of Manchester, with operating under the influence of alcohol.

Merrimack police said they found the car running with its lights on about 1 a.m. and that Norman was asleep behind the wheel. Police woke up and spoke to Norman, then arrested him after determining he had been driving while intoxicated.

Norman was released on personal recognizance and scheduled for arraignment on Dec. 12 in the 9th Circuit Court Merrimack Division.
