Merrimack Republicans Support Extremist Group in July 4th Parade

Fourth of July parades are meant to be events in honor of our country’s deep history and a celebration of our rights as Americans.

This year, however, it seems the celebration has morphed into something far darker.

We had two mass shootings this year at Fourth events.

And then in the town of Merrimack, NH the town Republican party proudly flew a Three Percenter flag (higher than the American Flag) on their float.

“The Three Percenters, also styled 3 Percenters, 3%ers and III%ers, are an American and Canadian far-right and libertarian anti-government militia. The group advocates gun ownership rights and resistance to the U.S. federal government.”

Our friends to the north in Canada have even put the U.S. the Three Percenter militia on their Terror list, citing risk of violent extremism.

Our town republicans are now proudly saying the quiet part out loud. They endorse violent militias. They endorse anti-government insurrectionists. They endorse the violent, extremist group Three Percenters.

The Merrimack republicans are out of step. They are publicly showing support for an organization that promotes insurrection and sedition. This is not the direction we want our town or New Hampshire to ever go.
